Christian Aid Venezuela Earthquake Appeal
A devastating 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck northern Venezuela on the evening of Wednesday 24 June 2026. A second, more powerful 7.5 magnitude quake hit less than a minute later – the strongest to hit Venezuela since 1900.
There were more than 30 aftershocks to the quakes which struck some of Venezuela’s most biggest and most densely populated cities.
Rescuers raced to find survivors trapped in collapsed buildings in the capital, Caracas, and the state of La Guaira.
Early reports indicated that hundreds of people had lost their lives, thousands more had been injured and many were reported missing. With search and rescue teams working through the wreckage, the full scale of the disaster emerged.
Trinity made an appeal to help Christian Aid reach families with shelter, food and medical care.
See the Christian Aid web site for more information or to donate directly to Christian Aid online.
Trinity previously supported the emergency appeal following the Afghanistan Earhquake in September 2025.
